| The introduction of electric buses -- a high technology for a poor country such as Afghanistan -- to Kabul in the early 80s had caught the fancy of the whole nation, especially since a few of the drivers were women. Some villagers I remembers would go on joy rides for hours in these buses. A question that comes to mind is that why were these electric buses lined up and burned when they had become un-operational because of the destruction of the electric lines |
