my father's library with stacked books, these shelves and a few books
are the only remainders in our house in Khushal Meena.
According to our relatives who evacuated the house under barrage
of artillery and bullets, our house was turned into a military post by
one of factions because it has safe underground section and members of
that group looted the books. Out
of all our personnel belongings, I know my father is most disturbed by
the loss of those books, some of which were rare historical books that
he had found after spending painstaking hours in old book stores on
Kabul. |
